During the enforcement period, which ran from Friday, Feb. 6, through the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 9, Lombard Police issued the following citations and made the following arrests:
- 10 seat belt citations
- 3 child safety seat citations
- 4 speeding citations
- 5 distracted driving citations (cell phone use)
- 12 other citations (moving/non-moving violations)
- 1 traffic-related arrest (suspended/revoked/no valid driver’s license)
“Our focus is always on keeping our roads safe,” said Police Lieutenant Tom Balsitis. “While we are encouraged that no DUIs were issued, the real goal of these efforts is prevention. Increased patrols and visibility remind drivers to make responsible choices before getting behind the wheel.”
