Village Administrative Offices Holiday ScheduleAs a reminder, Village of Lombard administrative offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 24, Thursday, December 25 and Thursday, January 1. Residents may continue to conduct business online during this time by using the Village’s available services for Water Billing, Online Permitting and Report a Concern. Emergency services will remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For Police or Fire assistance, please call 911. Waste Management Holiday ScheduleThere will be no garbage or recycling collection on Thursday, December 25 and Thursday, January 1, 2026. Holiday Recycling RemindersAs the season begins to wind down, Lombard Public Works encourages residents to recycle and dispose of seasonal items responsibly. Here’s how you can help keep our community clean and green: Free Holiday Tree Pick UpFrom January 5–16, residents can place holiday trees at their curbsides for free disposal. Please ensure all tinsel, ornaments, and decorations are removed before placing the tree out for pickup. Holiday Light Recycling Don’t toss those old or unwanted holiday lights, extension cords, or scrap wiring—recycle them instead! A convenient collection bin is located at the Public Works facility, 1051 Hammerschmidt Avenue. The last day to drop off items is Monday, January 19.

Winter and Overnight Parking Reminders With the holiday season underway and as family and friends come into town, the Village of Lombard asks residents to be mindful of street parking rules. Overnight on-street parking between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. is not allowed in Lombard, per Village ordinance. However, residents may request a temporary exemption of overnight parking at www.frontlinepss.com/lombard. Please note that overnight requests will not be granted if weather conditions include a 1” snowfall.

New "Coffee with the Village President" Series The Village is launching a new community engagement series, "Coffee with the Village President," and invites residents to attend the first event on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lombard Village Hall, located at 255 E. Wilson Avenue. This casual, drop-in gathering gives residents the opportunity to ask questions and share ideas directly with Village President Anthony Puccio about Village projects, initiatives, and community topics. The event is free and open to all, with coffee and light refreshments provided.

Be Part of Lombard’s First Restaurant Week The Village of Lombard is excited to launch its first Lombard Restaurant Week and invites all restaurants, cafés, breweries, and eateries in the Village to participate. The event will take place from Friday, January 23, through Sunday, February 1, 2026. This is a great opportunity for local food and beverage businesses to showcase their menus, reach new customers, and take part in a Village-wide effort to celebrate and support local dining. Police Remind Drivers to Stay Safe This Holiday SeasonThe holiday season is a time for celebrating with family and friends, and the Lombard Police Department is working to help ensure everyone gets home safely. Lombard officers are joining law enforcement agencies across Illinois in a statewide traffic safety effort. Through January 5, officers are participating in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High. Get a DUI.” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns. These ongoing efforts focus on preventing impaired driving and increasing seat belt use and are supported by the Illinois Department of Transportation’s “It’s Not a Game” public safety campaign.

DU-COMM Now Hiring 9-1-1 TelecommunicatorsDU-COMM, one of the largest 9-1-1 dispatch centers in Illinois and the agency that provides emergency dispatch services for the Village of Lombard, is now hiring 9-1-1 Telecommunicators.
