Winter and Overnight Parking Reminders

With the holiday season underway and as family and friends come into town, the Village of Lombard asks residents to be mindful of street parking rules.

Overnight on-street parking between 2 a.m. to 5 a.m. is not allowed in Lombard, per Village ordinance. However, residents may request a temporary exemption of overnight parking at www.frontlinepss.com/lombard. Please note that overnight requests will not be granted if weather conditions include a 1” snowfall.

Village Completes Major Sewer Rehabilitation Project

The Village recently completed a $15 million rehabilitation of a key section of Lombard’s largest combined sewer system. Originally built in the 1920s, this 7.5 to 9-foot diameter sewer runs from Lombard Common to the Glenbard Wastewater Authority and has served the community for more than a century.

Over the past two years, the Village restored 2.1 miles of this large-diameter sewer, improving reliability, helping protect homes and businesses, and strengthening our infrastructure to continue serving Lombard for generations to come.

2026 Water and Sewer Rates & Online Payments

Beginning in January 2026, the Village’s combined water and sewer rate will be $18.21 ($10.47 for water and $7.74 for sewer) per 1,000 gallons of water used by customers within the Village limits. This cost reflects a 67-cent increase per 1,000 gallons of water, compared to 2025. Additionally, the Service Charge will be $5.41 and Capital Fixed Fee will be $6.81, reflecting a 60-cent increase in fixed costs per month.

For example, a household that uses 4,000 gallons of water each month will see an increase of $3.28 per month or $39.36 for the year.

Village Honors Carol Bauer for 60 Years of Service

In recognition of her six decades of service, the Lombard Village Board proclaimed January 3, 2026, as “Carol Bauer Day” in the Village of Lombard. Beyond her work with the Village, Carol has also made a lasting impact through her work with Versiti Blood Center of Illinois, where she has helped organize more than 400 blood drives, resulting in over 20,000 pints of donated blood.

Please join us in thanking and congratulating Carol Bauer for her professionalism, dedication, and lasting impact on the Lombard community.

Village Board Adopts Budget and Tax Levy Amendments

The Lombard Village Board approved the 2026 Budget Ordinance, totaling $123,379,037, along with the 2025 Tax Levy Ordinance in the amount of $12,474,037, at their meeting on Dec. 4, 2025. As part of the approval, the Board amended the tax levy so that the increase applies only to new construction.

As a result of this action, the Village’s portion of the property tax levy for existing homeowners will remain the same as last year. Only newly built or newly added construction will see an increase in the Village portion of their tax bill. Residents are reminded that overall property tax bills may still change based on assessments or tax rates from other taxing bodies in the community.

The Board’s decision demonstrates the Village’s focus on careful budgeting, efficient operations, and reducing impacts on residents where possible. For more information about the Village’s budget process or tax levy, visit www.villageoflombard.org/budget or www.villageoflombard.org/propertytax.
