Lombard Police Continue Thanksgiving Enforcement Campaign

As many residents travel for the holiday weekend, the Lombard Police Department is continuing its
Thanksgiving traffic safety campaign to help keep roads safe. Officers are participating in the statewide “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiatives, which run through December 2.

If you plan on drinking this holiday weekend, plan a sober ride home to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday for all.

Keep the Wreath Red This Holiday Season

As the holiday season begins, the Lombard Fire Department is once again taking part in the annual
“Keep the Wreath Red” fire safety campaign. The program serves as a simple but powerful reminder for residents to practice safe habits when decorating, cooking, and celebrating during the holidays.

Starting on Thanksgiving Day, wreaths with all red bulbs will be displayed outside each Lombard fire station. If a fire in the community is caused by holiday decorations or seasonal activities, firefighters will replace one red bulb with a white bulb. The wreaths will remain on display through January 1, 2026, with the department’s goal to keep every bulb red throughout the season.

Help us keep the wreath red by staying mindful of fire safety and enjoying a safe holiday season!
