Lombard Citizens Fire Academy Graduation

Congratulations to the 2025 graduates of the Lombard Citizens Fire Academy! Graduates were recognized during the Lombard Fire Department’s Community Open House on Wednesday, October 8.

Over five sessions, participants explored the daily work, responsibilities and training of Lombard’s Firefighters and Paramedics. They took part in classroom lessons and hands-on exercises that highlighted the dedication and skill required to serve and protect the Lombard community.

National Teen Driver Safety Week is October 19–25

The Lombard Police Department is recognizing National Teen Driver Safety Week, October 19–25, and encouraging parents and teens to talk about the importance of safe driving habits. Motor vehicle crashes remain a leading cause of death for teens, and most are preventable through education, awareness and responsible choices.

Parents and caregivers can help keep teens safe by talking regularly about the dangers of speeding, distractions and impaired driving, requiring seat belt use on every trip, and setting clear limits on nighttime driving and passengers.

Halloween 2025

This year, Halloween will take place on Friday, October 31, and the Village has set recommended trick-or-treating hours from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. year,

Safety Reminders

Parents are encouraged to accompany young children, and older kids should stick with friends, visit only well-lit homes and cross streets at intersections. Drivers are reminded to stay alert for little ghosts and goblins walking through our neighborhoods. If you plan to hand out candy, please turn on your porch light to welcome trick-or-treaters.

Not Participating This Year?

The Village is offering a downloadable “No Trick-or-Treating” sign to display near your front door. Simply print it at home and place it in a visible spot. Turning off your porch light is another easy way to signal that your household isn’t participating. Please note: the Village will not provide printed copies of the sign.
