Lombard Senior Fair Next Week
The Village’s 19th Annual Senior Fair is taking place next Wednesday, October 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center. This free community event will feature more than 70 local organizations and service providers, offering valuable information and resources for older adults and their families. Attendees can take advantage of free flu shots, hearing screenings, and other health services, plus on-site DMV services by appointment. Fire Department Hosts Community Open House on Oct 8th The Lombard Fire Department is inviting residents to attend its annual community open house on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fire Station 45, located at 50 E. St. Charles Rd. The event is held in support of National Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 5–11, 2025. This free, family-friendly event offers residents the chance to meet Lombard Firefighters and Paramedics, watch live demonstrations, and explore Fire and EMS vehicles used in emergency response. This year’s open house will also feature the department’s new fire engine, giving residents the opportunity to see the latest addition to Lombard’s fleet up close.

Support the Fire Department's Pink T-Shirt Fundraiser on Oct. 4th
The Lombard Fire Department and Lombard Firefighters Union 3009 are hosting their 12th annual pink t-shirt fundraiser to raise funds for Bhorade Cancer Care Center at Good Samaritan Hospital. Shirts will be available for purchase on Saturday, October 4th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Babcock’s Grove House, located at 101 W Saint Charles Rd in Lombard. Each shirt is priced at $20, and all proceeds will be directed toward supporting cancer patients at the Bhorade Cancer Care Center.

Shred Event & Paper Products Drive on Saturday, Sept. 27th
Residents are invited to take part in a Shred Event and Paper Products Drive on Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to noon at Village Hall, 255 E. Wilson Avenue. The event is free and is sponsored by the offices of State Senator Laura Ellman and State Representative Terra Costa Howard. This community event offers residents a safe and secure way to dispose of personal documents, with a limit of two banker boxes per vehicle. In addition, participants are encouraged to donate household paper products such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hygiene items. All donations will support The Outreach House, a local nonprofit dedicated to assisting families in DuPage County by providing food, clothing, diapers, and other essential resources.

S. Park Ave Closure this Sunday, Sept. 28 for Community Event
Please be advised that South Park Avenue, between St. Charles Road and Michael McGuire Drive, will be closed on Sunday, September 28, from 9 a.m. through approximately 6 p.m. to accommodate the LOV’D Fall Oktoberfest Event, co-hosted by the Lombard Chamber of Commerce and JL Vintage Odds and Ends. Motorists traveling in and around downtown Lombard are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel, and expect increased pedestrian and vehicle activity throughout the day. Pace Seeking Public Feedback on Planned Transit Project
Pace Suburban Bus is seeking community input on the planned Pulse Cermak/22nd Street Line, a new arterial bus rapid transit service that will provide faster, more reliable connections between the CTA Pink Line’s 54th/Cermak Station in Cicero and the Yorktown Center area in Lombard. To share project details and gather feedback, Pace will host two virtual public meetings: one in English on Wednesday, October 1, from 6–7 p.m., and one in Spanish on Thursday, October 2, from 6–7 p.m.. Residents, commuters and business owners are encouraged to attend, ask questions and offer suggestions.
