Village Invites Vendors to Participate in its 19th Annual Senior Fair
The Village of Lombard is inviting local organizations and businesses to participate in its 19th Annual Senior Fair scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the Lombard Park District’s Madison Meadow Athletic Center (MMAC) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event helps provide local seniors with resources, health screenings and information about community programs and services.
Interested vendors are encouraged to applyon the Village website. The deadline to submit an application is Friday, September 12, 2025. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lombard Cruise Nights & Summer Concerts: Saturday, July 26
Join us in downtown Lombard this Saturday, July 26th, for another exciting night of Cruise Nights and Summer Concerts, brought to you by Tommy's Express Car Wash. Enjoy a fun night out with family and friends, featuring classic cars and live music from Kaleidoscope Eyes from 6-9 pm. Families with children should stop by Kids' Corner, sponsored by Kelly Stetler Real Estate and Kitchen Refresh by CMH Home Co., from 6-8 pm to enjoy colorful face painting, visit with the Helen Plum Public Library and grab some fun giveaways from our sponsors! Lombard Fire Department Responds to House Fire on S Highland Avenue
On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 5:10 a.m., the Lombard Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of W. Edgewood Road for a reported house fire.
Lombard Fire Department crews arrived on the scene at 5:16 a.m. and quickly deployed multiple hose lines to begin extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control at 5:30 a.m. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. However, the home was left uninhabitable due to extensive damage, which is estimated to exceed $80,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Lombard Fire Investigation Unit.

Sign Up for the 2025 Lombard Citizen’s Police Academy
The Lombard Police Department is now accepting applications for its 35th Annual Citizens Police Academy. This free, 10-week program provides a unique, behind-the-scenes look at local law enforcement, including hands-on experiences and presentations from officers. Classes will be held Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. at Village Hall, beginning September 9th.
Participants must be at least 18 years old, and space is limited to 20 individuals. Applications are due by August 25 and are available online, at Village Hall, or the Lombard Police Department. For more information and to apply, visit the Village website.

Know the Rules for E-Scooters, E-Bikes, and Other Motorized Devices
The Lombard Police Department is continuing efforts to educate the community about laws and safety guidelines for using e-scooters, e-bikes, and other motorized devices. Here are a few important reminders: - Riders of e-scooters must be 18 or older, per State law.
- E-bikes must follow the Bicycle Rules of the Road.
- Class 3 e-bike riders must be at least 16 years old.
- Riding on sidewalks is discouraged and prohibited in certain areas, including Downtown Lombard. Refer to the Walk Your Wheels webpage for details.
- Kids under 16 cannot operate non-highway motorcycles or similar motor-driven cycles (gas or electric) on public roads, as these require a valid driver's license and insurance.

West Nile Virus Risk Raised to Moderate in DuPage County
The DuPage County Health Department has elevated the risk level for West Nile Virus from low to moderate, prompting a reminder for residents to take proactive steps to protect themselves and their families.
Residents are encouraged to follow the “Drain and Defend” approach: - Drain any standing water around your home where mosquitoes can breed.
- Defend yourself by using insect repellent and wearing long sleeves and pants when outdoors, especially during dawn and dusk.
For additional backyard protection, residents may consider using yard treatment sprays, which are available at most local hardware stores. Information about the Village's mosquito abatement program, which focuses on killing larvae, is available on the Village's Environmental webpage.
