Lombard Blood Drives Collect 70 Pints in January

The Village of Lombard is thanking donors for their life-saving blood donations at the Village's Winter Blood Drive and other local community blood drives this month. Thanks to your generosity, a total of 70 pints of blood were collected—enough to help save up to 210 lives. Since the Village’s blood donation program began in 1988, 347 blood drives have been held, collecting more than 19,640 units with the potential to save nearly 59,000 lives.

Each winter, spring, summer, and fall, the Village of Lombard, in collaboration with Versiti Blood Centers, hosts blood drives at Yorktown Center and the First Church of Lombard. Save the Dates for the Village's remaining blood drives in 2025: April 15, June 10, and September 9, as well as November 11 to honor Veterans and former Village President Bill Mueller.

Lombard Police Warn Residents about Recent Cases of Scams

The Lombard Police Department is warning residents to stay alert after recent cases of scams affecting members of our community.

Scammers use various tactics—such as phone calls, emails, text messages, and social media—to target individuals and steal personal information or money. These criminals often pose as government agencies, utility companies, or trusted organizations to appear legitimate.

Staying informed and cautious is the most effective way to protect yourself and your loved ones from becoming a victim.

Report Potholes with SeeClickFix

Winter is tough on roadways. The freezing and thawing of moisture in the ground weakens the pavement, leading to cracks and potholes.

This week, Lombard Public Works crews have been out patching potholes that surfaced after last week's winter weather and warmer temperatures this week. If you see Public Works crews patching potholes on the roads, please be sure to move over and slow down to keep everyone safe.

If you see a pothole, report it using the SeeClickFix app or web tool.  Thank you for your help in keeping Lombard roads safe!

Visit the SeeClickFix webpage to learn more and submit your concerns.
